FAQs
Each FastCoat kit includes 12 cans of closed-cell polyurethane spray foam, an application gun, foam cleaner, and safety gear (goggles, gloves, and coverall). Under standard conditions, one kit covers about 240 sq ft at 1″ thickness (≈240 board feet). At 2″ thickness, the foam delivers an R-Value of 11.32.
“Class A Fire Rated” means the foam has passed ASTM E84 fire safety testing — the same test referenced by most U.S. building codes.
Products with this rating are recognized as building code compliant, which means they can be used in permitted projects and will typically pass local inspections when applied correctly.
FastCoat provides this certified level of safety and performance, ensuring your insulation project meets U.S. residential and commercial construction standards.
Yes, when used according to instructions. The foam is CFC- and HFC-free, ASTM E84 Class A fire-rated, and becomes inert after full cure.
✅ Always wear a respirator, goggles, and gloves, and ensure ventilation during spraying and the first 12 hours of curing.
🚫 Do not spray into fully enclosed or unventilated cavities.
FastCoat cures in about 24 hours, with a cutting time around 40 minutes and skin time ≈ 5 minutes. You can safely re-enter after 12 hours of ventilation (24 hours for sensitive individuals). The foam is paintable once cured.
FastCoat adheres to wood, drywall, masonry, concrete, metal, and rigid foam boards. Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of oil, dust, or rust.
- Ideal can temperature: 68 °F (20 °C)
- Working range: 41 °F – 86 °F (5 °C – 30 °C)
- Maintain correct spray distance (12 – 18 in walls, 6 – 8 in ceilings)
For outdoor use, protect cured foam from UV with paint or coating.
FastCoat offers an R-Value of approximately 5.66 per inch, or R-11.32 at 2″ thickness.
It performs reliably between –103 °F and 239 °F, and when protected from UV and moisture, provides an effective service life of 25–30 years.
Once fully cured, it is water-resistant, but should not be used as a stand-alone waterproofing membrane.
