Key Features & Benefits
Kraken Bond ThermaFoam Wide Spray Foam Insulation (FS 113) is an all-purpose, one-component closed cell foam sealant engineered to fill, insulate, and seal wide gaps, cavities, and joints for both indoor and outdoor applications. Its wide spray pattern delivers broad, even coverage in fewer passes, reaching the attics, crawl spaces, California corners, and hard-to-access seams other foams miss. Once cured, it forms a dense, continuous insulation layer that improves thermal performance, cuts air leakage, and adds moisture resistance. Whether you're a DIY homeowner, a renovation contractor, or a construction professional, one 16 oz can delivers professional-quality insulation and sealing performance without special tools or contractor assistance.
Performance Highlights
- Class-A Fire Rated (ASTM E84) ā Tested to FSI ⤠15 and SDI ⤠40 for top-tier flame-spread and smoke performance.
- High R-Value Insulation ā Delivers R-5.66 per inch thickness for superior thermal performance.
- Wide Spray Coverage ā Covers more area with fewer passes for faster, seamless application.
- Smart Nozzle Control ā Reaches deep cavities and hard-to-access gaps with precision.
- Air & Moisture Barrier ā Creates a durable airtight seal to reduce drafts and moisture infiltration.
- Strong Adhesion ā Bonds to most common building materials: wood, concrete, masonry, metal, and drywall.
- Energy Saving Performance ā Helps lower heating and cooling costs by minimizing air leakage.
- Yields up to 10 board feet at 1 inch from each 16 oz can.
Key Benefits
- Wide spray pattern for fast, even, single-can coverage
- High thermal insulation performance (R-5.66 per inch) to lower heating and cooling costs
- Creates a seamless insulation layer that reduces air leaks and thermal bridging
- Expands to fill irregular gaps, deep voids, and hard-to-reach cavities
- Paintable once cured, and easy to cut, trim, and shape
- No additional mechanical fasteners required
- Helps reduce condensation and moisture-related issues
-
Professional-quality results without special tools or contractor assistance

- New construction ā framing and pre-drywall stages
- Mobile homes, garages, and utility buildings
How to Use
- Prepare the surface. Make sure surfaces are solid, clean, dry, and free of dust, grease, and rust. When the temperature is above 32°F (0°C), lightly mist the surface with water to improve adhesion and speed curing.
- Prepare the can. Bring the can to room temperature (ideal: 68°F / 20°C) before use. Wear protective gloves, shake the can thoroughly for at least 30 seconds, and firmly attach the applicator to the valve.
- Apply the foam. Hold the can upside down with the valve pointed downward at all times. Spray from 12ā18 in. on vertical walls and 6ā8 in. on horizontal ceilings. For vertical gaps, fill from the bottom upward ā don't fill the entire gap at once, as the foam will expand.
- Build to thickness. Apply in multiple layers ā at least 3 layers to a recommended total of 2 in. for optimal insulation value. Thicker applications deliver higher performance; 1ā2 layers will not reach the ideal R-value.
- Finish. Sets tack-free in about 5 minutes and can be cut in roughly 40 minutes; fully cures within 24 hours. Once cured, protect from UV by covering with plaster, paint, or another suitable coating. Remove uncured foam with Foam Cleaner; cured foam can only be removed mechanically.
